Hossein Mohammadi, PhD
Postdoctoral Numerical Simulation Analyst, McGill University and CHUM Research Centre
 
Hossein earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University in 2015. His expertise involves advanced finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and computational modeling of multi-physics and multi-scale processes. His Ph.D. studies and Post-Doctoral Fellowship research contributed to published papers in multiple peer-reviewed numerical analysis and simulation journals.


Dr. Julien Clin, PhD
Spinologics - Director, Biomechanical Simulation R&D

 Julien Clin obtained his Bachelor of Engineering at École Polytechnique of Paris (France) and his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at École Polytechnique of Montréal (Canada). He specializes in the development of biomechanical ‘black-box’ simulation tools that facilitates access to simulation for medical professionals. For instance, during his PhD, he developed a finite element simulator for the brace treatment of scoliosis that got integrated into a web-based software dedicated to orthotists.

Currently, he is the Director of Biomechanical Simulation R&D at Spinologics Inc. He led the development of a biomechanical simulation software dedicated to planning spine surgery, which was integrated into EOS Imaging’s cloud-based software. On a wider scale, he is leading the development of a Biomechanics Virtual Lab that offers numerical solutions to test and optimize medical devices on virtual patients.



Maxime Nicole, ing.
Mechanical Engineer, Consultant


Maxime operates his own consulting firm providing engineering simulation services, along with teaching at the Université de Sherbrooke courses in FEA simulation and 3D CAD modelling. Cumulating over 23 years of experience in mechanical engineering design and simulation, Maxime accomplished over the years numerous mandates in various fields such as rail transport, civil aviation, industrial equipment, medical equipment, heat and acoustics. His experience, attention to detail and quality orientated work make him strong asset in achieving the project's timeline and goals in a fast paced and evolving environment, showing passion in really getting to the bottom of the project's needs.


Markus Kopp
Principle Engineer – ANSYS Inc.

 
Markus Kopp is a Principal Engineer at ANSYS Inc., specializing in the simulation of Electromagnetic phenomena using the ANSYS high frequency simulation products, which include tools such as HFSS and SIwave. His primary areas of interest are antenna design  and antenna performance on large platforms such as automobiles. Antenna system design for vehicle to vehicle communication using hybrid circuit/field simulation techniques. System level (end-to-end) simulation methodologies for the analysis of EMI/EMC issues and high speed data transfer in both wired and wireless communication channels. 

During the past 17 years, while working at Ansoft/ANSYS he has progressively held the roles of Application Engineer, Country Manager and Senior Application Specialist, focusing on the high-frequency simulation tools and markets. Previous to working at Ansoft/ANSYS Markus worked at TYCO/Sensormatic Electronic as a research engineer and Motorola as an antenna engineer.

Markus holds 7 US patents, has written a number of published articles, and holds a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Physics degree, and lives in Toronto, Canada.

With patient welfare hanging in the balance, disruptive innovation is a permanent concern and product failure is not an option in healthcare. Applying engineering simulation throughout development can make all the difference in bringing new treatments to patients while meeting safety standards and product deadlines.

Maryam Khelghatibana
CFD Analyst, SimuTech Group

 Maryam is a CFD Analyst at SimuTech Group’s Montreal, Quebec office. Her current duties include performing consulting services projects in the field of CFD as well as providing technical supports, training and seminars on the ANSYS CFX, FLUENT and AIM line of products. During her graduate studies in Mechanical Engineering, Maryam collaborated with Pratt and Whitney Canada on a project focused on aerodynamic optimization of transonic fans. At SimuTech Group, she has developed a diverse practical experience in CFD simulation while working with ANSYS customers in different industries such as hydraulic turbine and biomedical.



Dr. Majid OstadRahimi, P. Eng.
Electrical Engineer, SimuTech Group 
 
Majid received his PhD degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Manitoba in 2011. His Ph.D. studies and Post-Doctoral Fellowship research contributed to the broad area of applied electromagnetics, RF systems, and advanced simulations. In addition to academic work, he has been a part-time technical consultant/electrical engineer with SimuTech Group since 2015.
